What is RSV?
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is one of the many viruses that cause respiratory illness and usually occurs in late fall through early spring. It spreads like a cold and enters the body through the nose or eyes and is usually mild. However, some children can become very sick and require hospitalization.
RSV vaccine
Nirsevimab (known as Beyfortusä) is an injection that is a preventative antibody to help fight RSV. It is recommended for infants younger than 8 months of age or who are at a higher risk for infection.
Will my insurance cover the vaccine?
That is still to be determined. You may want to check with your insurance provider directly. We are still working with the suppliers and insurance companies but would love to hear if you are interested.
